Through scholarships with Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska and Richland Community College in Decatur, Illinois, Tallgrass is helping to prepare students for a successful career in the energy industry – whether that is within the ranks of Tallgrass’ nationwide team or through work at a Tallgrass peer, partner or customer, such as bio-fuels production facilities, gas turbine power plants, electric transmission operations, wind farms, fertilizer manufacturing, water and wastewater treatment plants and more.
Southeast Community College Scholarships
Tallgrass partnered with to Southeast Community College (SCC) to enhance the college’s control room simulator lab and establish a multi-year scholarship program tied to the Energy Generations Operations Program. By becoming a “Tallgrass Tech Scholar”, students can prepare themselves for one of the fastest-growing industries in the world with an Associate of Applied Science degree. This one-year scholarship will be administered by Southeast Community College and covers academic tuition and fees, books, and housing associated with SCC’s Energy Generations Operations Program. To qualify, students must apply on time, be accepted to SCC, be enrolled in the Energy Generations Operations program, and be in good academic standing. In the program’s first two years, Tallgrass has awarded seven scholarships to deserving students.
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on www.tallgrass.com/tech and open again in summer of 2026.
Richland Community College Scholarships
Tallgrass partnered with Richland Community College Foundation to create a scholarship fund for Engineering Technology students. The gift will fund scholarships over the next five years in Richland Community College’s Applied Science & Technology Division, which prepares students for in-demand careers across a wide range of industries, from skilled trades and advanced technologies to business, agriculture, and engineering. Richland Community College’s Engineering Technology programs provide hands-on learning, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert instruction to equip students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s workforce.
To be eligible, students must be in good standing with the college and may be enrolled full- or part-time. They must also specialize in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Systems.
